I think most fashion girlies would agree that kitten heels are the perfect middle ground between ballet flats and high heels. You get a little bit of height and that dressed-up feeling, but without the pain that usually comes with wearing five-inch stilettos. For me, they’re one of those rare shoes that feel just as practical as they are chic.

And now that warm weather is finally here, I’ve been having fun digging through my closet and finding fresh ways to style them. My goal is to give Carrie Bradshaw energy—because, I mean, she’s basically the unofficial queen of the slim, sleek shoe! So if you’re looking for outfit inspiration, here are five ways to wear kitten heels that feel effortless, elevated, and perfect for the season.

Truthfully, I’ve been trying to figure out how to wear balloon pants without feeling overwhelmed by all the volume, and this outfit has me sold that kitten heels are the answer. They make the silhouette feel more balanced and elongated, offsetting the wider shape of the hem with a sleek, slim heel. It just works like the missing piece of the puzzle.

If the outfit is more muted, you can stick with a similar tone for the shoes, or if it’s more colorful, go bold and let the heels add a bit more impact.

With a statement skirt

Street style stars are loving the plain top and statement skirt formula, and I’m fully here for it. It also instantly makes me think of Carrie Bradshaw, who was never shy about a standout, attention-grabbing skirt. Go with a thong sandal if you want to lean more Y2K and laid-back, or a pointed-toe slip-on mule for something a bit more refined.

With jorts

Every year, like clockwork, my summer uniform ends up being some version of jorts with a tank or T-shirt. I usually lean into the casual vibe with sneakers or ballet flats, but I’m really loving the way a kitten heel changes the feel here—it instantly makes the whole look feel more day-to-night. And honestly, it’s very Hailey Bieber-coded. (Our style muse!)

You can keep it minimal with an oversized white tee for that clean, understated vibe, or switch it up with a sleek tube top when you want something a little more flirty.

With white pants

White pants are a summer staple, so pairing them with kitten heels feels like a no-brainer. Stay the classic route with a black or brown pair, or use your shoes to add some personality with a pop of color, a fun print, or embellished details. It’s an easy way to make a simple white-pants outfit feel a little more styled.

With track pants

You wouldn’t think track pants and heels would go together—they’re from completely different style worlds. But that contrast is exactly what makes the outfit work. The casual, laid-back feel offsets the dressier look of heels, making the whole outfit feel more intentional. It makes them look less like a sports uniform without sacrificing comfort.
